METERINGChina Conference & Exhibition 2007, the first international metering event for the Chinese metering market, organized by GSL Consulting Ltd. China, was successfully ended on June 8, 2007 in Shanghai.
Overview
METERINGChina Conference & Exhibition 2007 was taken place on 6-8 June 2007 in Shanghai. This event established a top level information exchange platform for both domestic and international metering professionals, attracted more than 200 organizations and 1000 attendees from domestic and international metering industries. The general attendee statistics and analysis are indicated as below:
Spotlight of METERINGChina conference

The event received strong support from the two national power network operators: China State Power Grid Corporation and South China Power Grid, as well as more than 20 provincial power companies. More than 30 industry leaders and experts from both China power utilities and international metering leading suppliers delivered valuable speeches. Coverage of topics widely included: advanced metering technologies, industry standard development and latest policies and regulation, successful AMR/AMM strategies and case studies, smart billing and data management, customer services, customer information technologies and customer relation management etc.

We are also very delighted that the event also attracted many international speakers, Italian ENEL presented their AMM project experiences, Swiss CKW introduced their knowledge in smart meter life time, HK CLP brought the issue of ¡°metering quality from procurement to disposal¡±, South African CBI company talked about the development path in prepayment metering technologies and application etc. All these speeches contributed to the attraction of the conference and brought valuable knowledge and information to all participants.

Spotlight of METERINGChina exhibition
Over 36 Chinese and international companies presented their latest products and technologies during the three-day exhibition. The displayed products ranged from meter components such as metering chips, relays, CTs, batteries, wireless modules to complete meter products, system solutions, management software, power quality monitoring equipments etc. Participants took the opportunities to make full use of their time to share variety of perspectives and insight under one roof.

Meanwhile the co-located events: China METERINGChina Sourcing Fair helped more than 20 international buyers chose from what they need, and the Technical Study Tour, the field visit, as well as the vendor briefing programs were smoothly proceed.

Besides the 36 exhibitors, the exhibition also attracted many other industry leading companies from China such as Holley, Hualong Electronic, Sanxing Group and Chint Group, as well as international market leaders such as Siemens, Echelon, Renesas, and Telvent etc. Visitors from more than 20 countries were participated in the event.

Summary
By organizing METERINGChina 2007, we are aware that the opportunities in the next three to five years in the Chinese metering market for advanced metering technologies and AMR/AMM solutions etc. are very promising. As per the message delivered by State Power Grid , AMR development will be accelerated in the coming three years. This also indicated that the huge investment from the State Power Utility will be poured in and great business opportunities for all players will be existed.

Meanwhile, we realized that the event has brought updated , valuable industry information and knowledge from both domestic and international industry experts, leaders, both utilities and vendors, into Chinese metering industry. This will surly bring great impact to the future improvement of the industry.

More, as the attraction of the business potential in the Chinese market, we feel that more international players are shifting their focus into China Market.
